Ganduje Urges Buhari to Ban Foreign Herdsmen from Nigeria
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has asked the Federal Government under the leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari to halt the movement of herdsmen from other countries into Nigeria because it will curb crimes and criminalities occasioned by Fulani-herders conflict across the country.
Ganduje made the call during the commissioning of twenty-five housing units of RUGA settlement project at Dansoshiya forest, in Kiru local government area.
He said such measure became necessary to prevent the coming of herdsmen from other African countries because they come to Nigeria with guns and other weapons to inflame the clash between herders and farmers adding that the foreign Fulanis also engage in crimes and criminality across the country.
The Governor said Kano state government chooses to provide RUGA settlement in the state to curtail cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed robbery, among others.
He also said RUGA settlements will also make the nomadic Fulani sit in a place to acquire the education that would place him at pal with other farmers across the world.
