The House of Representatives has received a letter for consideration on the 2024 statutory Budget Proposal of the FCT from President Bola Tinubu.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas who read the Letter at plenary, said the budget has been prepared on the basis of the FCTA revenue and expenditure focus in line with the fiscal development policy of the federal government.

 According to the letter,In line with the provisions of section 121 and 299 of the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has prepared the 2024 budget proposal of the state Capital.

 The proposal according to the speaker prioritizes improvement in health care services, job creation, youth empowerment and increased productivity

In another development, the house, following the motion under matters of urgent National Importance moved by Munir Ahmed from Kaduna state has appealed to the office of the National security adviser and the security agencies, to urgently harness powers within their reach to rescue the over one hundred and eighty abducted Teachers and students by kidnappers in Kaduna state.

similarly, Hon Austin Achadu from Benue state who lamented the incessant attacks meted on some individuals in Benue, als appealed to the Federal government to facilitate the rehabilitation and adequate security measures for the community and its environs.


 For Kogi State, Hon Paul Haruna expressed worried over  the recent Armed Robbery attacks leading to loss of lives of some individuals in some parts of the state.
 
In a matter of urgent matters of importance, Haruna urged the federal govt to collaborate with the state, to proffer  measures necessary to forestall future occurrence.
