Ondo city went agog as notable party men and women in people's democratic party PDP in their hundreds moved to pitch tent with the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.

Those who moved from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressive Party include an aspirant to the House of Representatives seat in Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Mayowa Akinkoye, Seven serving PDP ward Chairmen and four ward youth leaders with their supporters.

The APC Chairman in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin who received them at the party secretariat in Ondo City congratulated them for the bold step and promised them equal treatment.

Adetimehin said he is optimistic about a landmark victory in polls.

In his remark on behalf of other decampees, Hon. Akinkoye thanked the party State Chairman, Engr. Adetimehin and other leaders of the party for receiving them. He promised to put in his resources for the success of the party at the polls.

The highlight of the event was the tearing of their former membership cards and replacement with the new APC membership cards and the change of umbrella to broom.

Party leaders at the event include the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, Hon. Lola Fagbemi, MHR Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon Abiola Makinde, Deputy Majority Leader of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and other leaders.
