Tinubu Launches 2025 Armed Forces Emblem Appeal Fund

President Bola Tinubu has launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund.

He performed the brief ceremony at the Council Chambers of the State House on Tuesday, where he seized the opportunity to commend the Armed forces for their role as the first line of defence in protecting the country.

 The President specifically highlighted the roles played by the military in combating  all threats to national security.

According to Tinubu, it will be impossible to promote peace and development without security, hence the patriotic commitment of the Armed forces to Nigeria's unity, stability and progress remains invaluable.


In appreciation of the efforts of fallen heroes to national security, the Secretary to the government of the Federation, George Akume, pledged a donation of N500million on behalf of officials of government.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on behalf of the National Assembly made a donation of N200 million naira, while the Chief of Defence of Staff, Christopher Musa announced a donation of N50million naira on behalf of Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is usually commemorated every January 15 to honour fallen heroes who staked their lives in protecting the country and its citizens.

The 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day will mark the second edition President Tinubu will be hosting since he became President.

The President, his Vice, Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Chief Justice of the Federation among others are expected to lay wreath in honour of the fallen heroes on that day.
