Nigerian Army Manufactured Vehicles Instrumental to Fighting Insurgency
The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai has said that vehicles Produced by the Command Engineering Depot of the Nigerian Army have increased the military’s capabilities of defeating Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists.
Buratai said this Thursday during the Commissioning of Chief of army staff Intervention Projects, A&C Vehicles Assembly Plant, Smart Factory, Officers Transit Accommodation and Soldiers Accommodation at Command Engineering Depot.
Buratai, represented by the Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Jamil Sarham says no doubt there are a clear testament to the unprecedented commitment of the Nigerian Army to building the industrial capacity of Command engineer deport to undertake in-depth Research, Development and Innovation as well as to provide befitting accommodation for army personnel.
The army also outlines milestones that led to this achievement which include sustained structural renewal collaboration with defense industry of Nigeria and Buffalo engineering services while saying they are also self-sufficient when it comes to spare parts.
