Drama As NDDC Acting MD Pondei Slumps During Reps Committee Probe
The acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, collapsed before live television cameras on Monday during the ongoing hearing of the House Committee on the commission.
Pondei was making his submission to the panel investigating allegations of corruption in the commission when he had an attack which caused panic in the hearing hall.
Although security officials struggled to rescue and revive him, the attack continued before he was taken away by the authorities.
The hearing has however been adjourned for thirty minutes to reconvene later.
Earlier, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development NDDC, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (APC-Ondo) had stepped down following accusations of involvement in corrupt practices in the commission.
