Wike, Tambuwal Decry State of the Nation, Task Nigerians to Wise Up
Rivers State Governor, Nyeson Wike and his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal on Thursday decried the state of the nation calling on all Nigerians not to give an opportunity to enemies of progress and development. The two Presidential Aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party gave the admonition in Ibadan during separate meetings with delegates of the party.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Wike, the first caller was accompanied by Governor Seyi Makinde while PDP State Chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro, later accompanied Tambuwal to the same venue to meet the delegates.
The two aspirants in their remarks Express dismay at the level of insecurity and economic retrogression saying the ruling All Progressive Congress has failed Nigerians.
The two Aspirants therefore, canvassed for the votes of the delegates at the forthcoming Presidential primary of the party promising to turn around the fortune of the country.
Former Governor of Ekiti state and another Presidential Aspirant of the party, Ayodele Fayose assured the delegates that the Southwest would speak with one voice during the primary while Governor Seyi Makinde said he has no apology for supporting the presidential ambition of Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike.
The meeting between the two Presidential Aspirants and the delegates from Oyo State was held at the Presidential Lodge, Government House in Agodi.
