Three Dead, Five Vehicles Burnt In Ogun Fuel Tanker Explosion
Three persons have been feared dead while five vehicles, two motorcycles got burnt and many injured in a tanker explosion that occurred in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The explosion occurred on Tuesday around the Presidential Boulevard Road around Kuto, Abeokuta.
The fire incident, which reportedly involved a 33,000-fuel-laden tanker, happened due to a brake failure.
Galaxy News gathered that the tanker which was coming from Sagamu-Siun-Oke-Mosan Road climbed the overhead bridge but suddenly lost control while descending from the bridge and hit a motorcycle which was in motion before bursting into flames.
Galaxy News further gathered that the combined efforts of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corpe, Nigeria Police Force, Fire Service both the federal and State, private security officers of GTB, individuals put off the fire.
Speaking to newsmen, some of the survivors narrated their ordeal.
Speaking at the scene of the incident, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Femi Ogunbanwo who sympathized with the families of the deceased, said the government would wait for the report of the relevant agencies on the incident in order to avert future occurrence.
