The Nigerian Senate has dismissed allegations of corruption within its ranks, refuting claims made by Senator Jarigbe Agom-Jerigbe (Cross River-North). The senator had asserted that certain senior senators pocketed N500 million each for constituency projects in the budget.

Galaxy tv reports that Senator Yemi Adaramodu, the Senate spokesman and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, firmly rejected the accusations as baseless noting that, that there was no truth to the allegations put forward by Senator Agom-Jerigbe.

Senator Adaramodu stressed that both Agom-Jerigbe and Ningi relied on hearsay rather than concrete evidence to support their claims saying there was no factual accuracy in such allegations.
