President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has solicited for the collaboration of members of the National Assembly to build a new Nigeria that will guarantee future generations a prosperous country.

Giving his brief remarks at the joint session of the National Assembly, the President said those in leadership positions in the country and Nigerians have no choice but to collaborate to build a new Nigeria, saying no one else will do that for us.

While commending them for the smooth working relationship between the legislators and his government and for the quick manner in which they passed the 2024 budget, the President told the lawmakers that he would soon submit the 2024 supplementary budget proposal to them for consideration

Congratulating Nigerians for 25 years of unbroken democracy, the President told them that it is possible that he would not have been President if he had not passed through the National Assembly,

The senate president, Senator Godswill Akpabio as well as Speaker Tajudeen Abbas assured the president of the National Assembly’s support and collaboration to advance Nigeria democracy

Some lawmakers also spoke on Nigeria's democratic journey.
