Police Arrest 2,740 Suspects For Sundry Crimes In One Month.
No fewer than 2,740 suspects have been arrested in the last one year by officers of the Nigeria Police Force across the country.
The Suspects, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi were arrested in connection with armed robbery, kidnapping, homicide, unlawful possession of firearms, rape and defilement, cultism and other sundry crimes
GALAXY TV reports that the total number of firearms recovered includes 185 with a total number of 4,087 ammunition of various caliber of weapons recovered from suspects,111 vehicles recovered while 129 kidnapped victims were rescued. Not only that 284 firearms, 6,702 ammunition of various calibres have been recovered 107 vehicles recovered and 97 victims rescued.
The Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, while parading 14 suspects arrested by the FID/IRT in Abuja, highlighted the progress made in the force's efforts to combat crime in Nigeria.
Adejobi also revealed that a three man gang syndicate, who were arrested connection with gun running operating in Bauchi state
While speaking with Journalists, Tamako mato, who was an Instructor on weapon handling for the youths in his community confessed to having stolen the PKT machine gun and an unspecified number of ammunition from the boko haram terrorist abandon vehicle. Other suspects also confessed to the crimes they were arrested in connection with.
Items recovered from the suspects paraded includes 15 Ak 47 rifles, 7 pistol, 571 rounds of life ammunition of various caliber, 7.62 MM life ammunition and some cartridges.
