Oyo Govt distributes education compendium to students
As part of the efforts to improve the performance of students in Oyo state in external examinations, the State government has, presented 100,000 copies of compendium of past questions and answers (WAEC and NECO) in 10 examinable subjects to all Senior Secondary School 3 students of both public and approved private secondary schools in the State.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, (SSG), Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, reiterated the commitment of the present administration towards quality education delivery in the State and charged the students to maximise the opportunity provided by the State government.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Dawood Sangodoyin noted that what gives good result is hard work, constant study instead of playing, adding that the extra moral lessons organised for final year students in public schools were to prepare them for the forthcoming public examinations - WAEC and NECO.
He charged students to make the best use of the opportunity in their own interest while the Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Akinade Alamu, lauded the Governor's efforts and noted that education is the only roadmap to economic development in the State and the country, at large.
A cross-section of the students that took part in the symbolic presentation expressed their appreciation, commended the effort of the government at repositioning the education sector in the State and promised to maximize the opportunity provided by the State government.
