Ogun Police Arrest Six for Vandalizing Rail Line
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested six persons for vandalizing the railway lane at Oteyi area of Ibogun in the Ifo local government area of Ogun State.
A statement issued and signed by the Command Spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The suspects, Taiwo Ismaila, Egbekunle Abiodun, Abdullah Sanni, Nuru Ibrahim, Wasiu Aweda and Babatunde Sikiru.
The Police Command Spokesman said the suspects were arrested following information received by the DPO Ibogun division that vandals were removing some rods along the rail line.
Upon the information, Oyeyemi revealed that the DPO, CSP Samuel Oladele led his men to the scene where the six suspects were promptly apprehended.
Recovered from them are; 27 rail iron rods, two burning touches with a hose, six long cylinders, three short cylinders and one intercoder Volvo Truck with registration number SMK 61 XY.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
