Obaseki calls for decentralized security system to check criminals in Nigeria
Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki has called for a decentralized security system across the country, with the collaboration of both state and non state actors to check criminal activities.
The governor made this known during the Edo state security summit and the launch of command and control center in Benin city the state capital.
Governor Obaseki said technology has helped in the collation of crime incidents in the state, which security agencies worked on since 2020 to reduce criminality.
On his part, former inspector general of police and chairman police service commission Solomon Arase spoke on the need for information sharing and intelligence gathering to fight crime.
