Burnt Akure church: DSS dragged to court
The leadership of Sotitobire Miracle Ministry, the church that was set ablaze by irate youth on Wednesday has dragged the Department of State Services (DSS) to court over what it described as unlawful detention of the founder of the church, Alfa Babatunde.
Alfa Babatunde the general overseer of the ministry has been in the custody of the Department of state services, DSS, for about 11 days.
The senior members of the church led by the lawyer of the ministry, Akinyemi Omoware, said keeping Alfa Babatunde in detention without allowing his legal counsel and family members to have access to him shows that there is a motive behind it.
They are demanding that the founder should be charged to court or released unconditionally if found innocent.
They further claim that no dead body was exhumed from the Altar as rumoured by some people which led to the burning down of the church.
