Journalist, One Other Shot by Police in Osun
The Osun State correspondent of The Nation Newspaper, Toba Adedeji, and a yet-to-be-identified female student has been shot at by an officer of the Nigeria Police. The incident happened during a shoot-out with protesters in Osogbo on Tuesday. It was gathered that Toba was shot in the leg while the other lady was shot in the thigh.
They have been rushed to the emergency unit of UNIOSUN Teaching HospitalThe police were engaging with the aggrieved friends of a police brutality victim at Olaiya Flyover when the whole scene degenerated.
The attack on the Osun Correspondent of The Nation Newspapers is coming barely a week after the Police also attacked, harassed, and beat up the Oyo State Correspondent of the same paper, Yinka Adeniran.
Recall that Adeniran, who was attached to the Oyo Governor’s Office was tear gas directly in his eyes, nose, and mouth after his clothes were torn.
He also suffered some injuries during the attack at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Primary which was held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan last week Wednesday.
