The Coordinator, Joint Border Operations Drill, North Central states, Comptroller Mohammed Garba,  said that an average of N7billion is generated daily as duties on imported goods across the country.

He also revealed that the command has seized over ten thousand Foreign Parboil  Rice of 50kg worth N173million from smugglers.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin during the parade of seized goods and items in the command, Mohammed  Garba, who is also the area controller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Seme, said that daily revenue was N4.5 billion before the commencement of the joint operation in August last year but it has raised to above 6-7 billion naira daily.

He reiterated that the current Customs administration under the able leadership of Col. Hammed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) and his management team has zero-tolerance for corruption and revenue leakages in all its ramifications.

He added that Sector is committed to enforcing the border closure directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
