Gunmen Kill One Of The Abducted Farmers in Iseyin
One of the four farm workers abducted on Saturday at the poultry farm at Iseyin Farm Settlement has been killed.
According to a credible source in the town, the body of the yet to be named farmer has been retrieved by the security Agencies and kept for identification as well burial by his family.
It was learnt that the body has been deposited at the settlement, causing panic among families and friends of the remaining victims.
A farmer who was obviously overwhelmed by emotion when the corpse of the dead victim arrived declared that there was no need for ransom to be paid.
Recall that four farmhands that includes the manager of a poultry farm and his girlfriend were abducted on Saturday afternoon at the Oyo State Farm settlement along Iseyin-Ipapo-Saki road in Iseyin local government.
Meanwhile, the National President of Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum, Alhaji Ahmed Raji SAN has described the rising kidnap cases in the Oke-Ogun area as condemnable, calling on the federal and State governments to find a lasting solution to the problem.
Raji in a statement made available to Journalists said the incident, aside from collection of ransom, was an indication that the perpetrators aimed at crippling the source of food items for the common people.
He therefore charged security agencies and other search team to ensure the safety of the remaining victims. Our Correspondent learnt that the gunmen had already demanded for a certain amount as ransom for the farmers to regain their freedom.
