Environmentalist urges Deltans to relocate
In line with the Directives by the Delta state government for residents living in flood-prone areas to relocate, an environmentalist and immediate past secretary of the Nigerian Environmental Society Mr Paul Akporowo has said that government should have made provisions as a settlement camp.
This is coming as residents within the coastal areas of Warri threatened to stay behind since they have nowhere to go.
Speaking on the issue, the environmentalist advice residents to heed the warning from the state government for their own good.
On the threat by the Delta state government to commence illegal structures demolition, he stressed that it is coming too late.
It will be recalled that the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) had warned of more rains, which according to them will lead to flooding in some states.
