DHQ Says 140 Terrorists Neutralized, 135 Arrested In Two Month
The Defence Headquarters has said that troops of the Nigerian Military have neutralized 140 terrorists, arrested 135 others across all theatres of operations in the last one week.
Director of the Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba who made the disclosure during operational briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, said the troops equally recovered 241 assorted weapons and 3, 254 assorted ammunition in the last few months.
He added that troops in the Niger Delta region in their operation disrupted the activities of oil thieves, arrested 18 perpetrators and denying oil theft of the estimated sum of One Billion Seven Hundred and Fifty One Million Eight Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Naira (N1,751,886,550.00) only.
The Director while assuring the military's commitment to defeat the terrorists on the battlefield also called on citizens to give the military the necessary support to ensure insecurity is eradicated in the country.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Chairman of the Committee, Senator Simon Lalong said the University would serve as a hub for excellence in agricultural research, education and extension services. Senator Lalong said the institution would offer a comprehensive training curriculum that encompassed both theoretical and practical aspects of agricultural services.
