Stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress have kicked against the alleged imposition of Akanimo Udofia as a gubernatorial candidate. The spokesperson for the group, Obong Victor, spoke on behalf of the group during a protest at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Wednesday.

Obong alleged that the Akwa Ibom State government is the sponsor of Udofia with the aim of picking the governorship ticket of APC. The protesters were seen carrying placards of various inscriptions like; Akan Udofia, Akwa Ibom State does not want you, PDP sponsoring known mole in APC, No to Akan Udofia, PDP mole in APC, Akan Udofia is working for PDP and Governor Emmanuel Udom.

 In another development, a Non Career Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has donated made in Nigeria 18 seater Innoson bus to the party's secretariat. Accompanied by the former Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai, the leader of the group Nwanebike Oghi, said the gesture is part of its social responsibility to the party and its growth.
