3 Police Officers Nabbed For Corruption in Rivers
The Rivers State Police Command has taken action against three officers accused of extorting innocent motorists under the Rumuokoro Flyover in Port Harcourt. The officers Inspectors Sarah Anendei, Caroline Promise, and Christiana Jatau were caught in the act by the CP Monitoring Unit on Tuesday 29th October 2024.
Two of the officers, Promise and Jatau were said to be out of uniform, violating additional regulations. The officers were caught on video, and money taken from motorists was recovered on the spot.
The three officers according to the state police command spokesperson Grace Iringe-koko are presently cooling their heels at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt. The Rivers police commissioner CP Mohammed Mustapha cautioned officers and men of the command to shun all forms of corruption, saying it is no longer businessĀ asĀ usual.
