Cholera Kills 5 in Bayelsa
Five persons have been confirmed dead as cholera outbreaks hit Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo’s community Ofoni, in Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
The State Commissioner for Health Doctor Pabara Newton Igwele, stated this at the end of the 59th executive council meeting presided over by the state Deputy Governor.
Doctor Pabara said the state government, through the ministry of health have sent out the state rapid response team to curb the epidemic of the water-borne disease before it spreads to other communities in the Local Government Area.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources and his counterpart in environment appeal to Bayelsans to ensure they consume good water.
